vivo V40 Backs Filipino Filmmaker’s Mission to Inspire Climate Action

Renowned Filipino filmmaker Joseph Abello takes a creative approach to climate advocacy by using the vivo V40 to produce a short film for the Oscar M. Lopez Foundation’s Mga Kwento ng Klima (MKK) Short Films 2024. This competition encourages filmmakers to explore how climate change affects Filipino communities and calls for greater awareness and action.

Abello, celebrated for What Home Feels Like and Double Twisting Double Back, created Water for Three Sisters to shed light on the issue of water interruptions in his hometown of Cainta, Rizal. Through the lens of the V40, the film aims to inspire audiences to think deeply about the challenges brought by climate change in the Philippines.

 

“As a filmmaker, very powerful to be a filmmaker because people watch us, we can influence people through our content. So, it’s really time to do something more than just fun or more than just content. Do something na may laman, do something that can really influence people for the good,” Abello shared.
